Learn at your own pace with individual tuition, whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced artist looking to develop your own style.
HOW THE CLASSES WORK
Classes are relaxed and informal, with everyone working on their own individual projects. I work with each student one-to-one throughout the class, offering guidance with drawing, painting, technique and developing ideas.
You can work in oils, acrylics, watercolour, drawing or whichever medium you prefer. Beginners are very welcome and no previous experience is needed.

ABOUT EL ESTUDIO
El Estudio Benijófar has been offering art classes in Spain since 2012. Over the years, Seán has taught hundreds of students of all ages and abilities, developing a relaxed and individual approach to teaching.The studio is a friendly and informal place where people can learn, develop their skills and enjoy making art at their own pace. There is also a strong social side to the classes. It’s a place to meet new people, make friends and spend time with like-minded people who share an interest in art and creativity.
ABOUT SEÁN
I’m Seán Lavan, an Irish artist living and working in Spain. I’ve worked professionally as an artist for many years, originally creating commissioned portraits for private clients around the world and more recently concentrating on developing my own body of work.I work mainly in oils and acrylics, creating contemporary figurative paintings alongside portraits, bulls, horses and landscapes. My own approach to painting is expressive and individual, and this has strongly influenced the way I teach.
WHAT TO EXPECT
My classes are based around individual tuition rather than everyone following the same project. Each student works on their own painting or drawing, at their own level and in whichever medium they prefer.Throughout the class, I move around the studio working one-to-one with each student, offering guidance with drawing, painting, composition, colour, technique and developing ideas.The aim is not to teach everyone to paint in the same way, but to help each student improve their skills, build confidence and develop their own individual style. Beginners are very welcome, as are more experienced artists looking for guidance or simply a relaxed and creative environment in which to work.
